Nuvio is a real, operating company in Irvine, California, selling budget cold plunge chillers and inflatable tubs. It holds an F rating from the BBB. Its BBB file shows 64 complaints in three years, and the BBB’s own rating notes say Nuvio failed to respond to 61 of them. Most complaints describe chillers that stopped working within months, followed by slow support.

What the complaints say
- Chillers that fail within months. BBB complaints describe pumps stopping within two weeks, chillers failing after two months, and a unit dead at six months.
- Slow or automated support. Several complainants say they received only automated replies, or waited more than a week between responses.
- Warranty running out during troubleshooting. One BBB review says troubleshooting on a leak reported on day one dragged on until the warranty expired.
- Returns that require unused condition. One complainant says the “hassle-free returns” promise required the chiller to be unused, so a unit that didn’t perform couldn’t be returned.
The response rate is the main signal
Sixty-four complaints is not unusual for a high-volume budget brand. What stands out is the response rate. By the BBB’s count, Nuvio answered 3 of 64. Compare that with Plunge, which answered most of its 51 complaints, or Polar Dive, which resolved 6 of its 10. A company that doesn’t answer BBB complaints is telling you something about how it handles problems.
Recent Trustpilot reviews from September and October 2026 show a different picture, with several customers praising quick replacements. Support may be improving. The BBB data covers three years and may lag that change.
Before you buy
- Test the chiller as soon as it arrives, and report any problem in writing the same day.
- Ask how long a warranty claim usually takes, and whether troubleshooting time extends the warranty.
- Read the return policy for “unused” conditions.
- Pay by credit card.
