Sun Home Saunas is a real, operating company that sells saunas and cold plunges under the legal name Fish & Fischer, LLC in San Diego. It holds an A+ BBB rating and became BBB accredited in December 2025. Its BBB file shows 13 complaints in three years, mostly about repair delays, and its cold plunge warranty covers full shipping and labor only for the first 90 days.

What the complaints say
- Repair parts that take weeks. A 2026 complaint describes an outdoor sauna out of service for more than 40 days while a replacement power box was sourced, with the wrong part sent first. Sun Home later agreed to send a technician to install the correct part.
- A Cold Plunge Pro that failed within months. A June 2025 complaint describes a broken logic board and screen on the roughly $10,000 Cold Plunge Pro. Sun Home’s response opened a technical ticket.
- A cancellation fee. A 2024 complaint describes a $250 cancellation fee on an order cancelled before it shipped. Sun Home refunded the fee in full after the complaint.
- Chiller flow errors. A 2024 r/coldplunge thread includes two owners describing a Sun Home chiller that stopped circulating water and threw a flow error, one of them on a second unit.
Read the 90-day clause carefully
This is the detail most buyers miss. Sun Home’s 1-year cold plunge warranty only covers shipping and labor in full for the first 90 days after delivery. A chiller failure in month six means you pay to ship it or pay for the technician. That’s a common structure in this category, but it’s worth pricing in.
Before you buy
- Ask what a typical out-of-warranty chiller repair costs, including shipping.
- Decide whether the 3-year or 5-year extended plan is worth it, and ask whether it is prorated.
- Ask about current lead times. Several complaints mention long waits for parts.
- Pay by credit card.
